Social Media updates happen every so often. We hate them. We love them. We stick with them because what else are we going to do without them! As a business harnessing the power of social media, it is important that you know these updates and the potential it has for your business.
Here are some of the biggest updates introduced by today’s best apps.
A month after the release of this worldwide sensation, Pokemon Go has created quite a stir from fans old and new. Unexpected servers errors kept kicking users out. Tracking Pokemon was also causing a fuzz and was the biggest complaint users had about the phenomenal app.
The Update: Niantic announced many upcoming things about the game like the ability to trade Pokemon and battling with friends. The biggest update happened when GPS location apps like Pokevision were shut down. With third party apps shut down, Niantic claims that it will free up the servers answering one complaint. The company also got rid of tracking all together.
Snapchat – Geo Stickers
Not everyone has the time to draw cool drawings on their Snaps like Taco Bell. Snapchat’s biggest feature, GeoFilters, are used to collect happenings around the area and compile them for people to see. GeoFilters don’t require you to paint a pretty picture on the app, but does let you become a part of the party in the community.
The Update: Geostickers are available now in Los Angeles, New York City, San Francisco, Washington DC, Honolulu, London, Sydney, São Paulo, Paris, and Riyadh, according to the company blog. Just like GeoFilters you can send them in your Snaps, add them to your stories, and show off your cool side!
Twitter – Stickers
Twitter is also looking to make your posts searchable. They made hashtags (#’s) a thing. Tagging is a must on all posts. Now, they make things even more fun, creative, and expressive.
The Update: Unlike Snapchat stickers, you can use Twitter stickers to create a whole new conversation. When you tap on a sticker, a new timeline is shown to you where you can see how that sticker is being used. Talk about cool!
Instagram – Stories
Share photos. Share videos. Share your home-based business. While Instagram is now bombarded by tons and tons of product, people still want to know what their friends and family are doing.
The Update: While the media is saying this is stolen tech from Snapchat, it kind of make sense that Instagram would utilise a feature called stories. In the exact Snapchat fashion, your followers can now see what you have been doing for the last 24 hours. It makes for a good alibi, n’est-ce pas?
