Popular social media marketing platform Instagram is driving up sales with its new shoppable post feature. In fact, it’s driving up sales so much, that it has expanded its feature into eight more countries worldwide. Below is a little more information on the feature and where it has expanded to in 2018.
Instagram introduced its shoppable feature early this year. It was made available to select users during a test period, and it began to take off so it is now available to all brand accounts. The feature has been directly linked to over 1,200 orders and over 100,000 online sessions beyond that for a given brand. In fact, businesses that are using the feature are claiming around a 50% increase in website traffic from Instagram.
Once only available in the United States, this increasingly popular feature has now expanded into eight more countries. The countries include the UK, France, Italy, Germany, Australia, Brazil, Canada and Spain. The amazing thing about this is for the feature being so new, it was a quick success and is now making waves around the world.
Social Media Marketing and Shopping
In order to use the feature, you must have a business Instagram account linked to your Facebook. You can add products to the Facebook shop catalog, and once approved, they’ll be available for tagging on Instagram. Over 200 million users visit one or more Instagram brand profiles a day, so it’s probably a good idea to implement the feature if you aren’t already doing so.
Shopping via social media marketing platforms is becoming increasingly popular, and this is changing the face of e-commerce as we know it.
