How Much Does a Website Cost?

Trey Business

How much does it cost to make a website? How much do you charge to create a website?

These are questions that we hear every day from people. If you’ve never hired a developer, or have never been involved in building a software project it can be a very daunting task to to branch into the unknown, especially when there are so many barriers to overcome before you even know how much it costs to build a website.

Today we’re making it easier to build your own custom software, at a fraction of the price of the competition. We’re happy to announce that we are now PUBLISHING OUR WEB DEVELOPMENT PRICING, and are making it easier than ever for new clients to sign up for our development services.

Why Does This Matter?

I’m sure you’ve heard of someone who’s been cheated by their mechanic telling them they need more blinker fluid or something along those lines, maybe you’ve even been cheated by a mechanic before yourself (it’s ok, cars can be confusing!). Well, we now live in the future, where cars run on battery not gas (thank you Tesla) and software developers are the new mechanics (literally and figuratively, thank you Tesla).

I can’t count the number of times someone has come to us to get a second opinion on a quote they’ve received from a web developer who was just trying to take them to town. Selling them all kinds of things that they don’t need, and even some things that are total nonsense (who would have thought a website needs blinker fluid just like my car?!). This is horrible both for these people venturing into the world of custom software development, as well as for the industry as a whole. Because of this, and other ethical/moral reasons (like being human), we’re breaking the mold and publishing our web development pricing and making it easier for people to get custom software.

Why Are We Doing This?

I’m not going to stand on my high horse and say that the only reason we’re doing this is for the people (I’m not Robin Hood). We’re doing this so that we can get more people to hire Tractus to create their website. However, just because we’re a business and have to earn a living doesn’t mean that we don’t care about you and want your children to grow up in a happier world (ok, maybe I’m not like Robin Hood, but most other super heroes care about people and are also billionaires).

When I first started Tractus I was working for a bigger international corporation, and I saw that if I was able to cut away the corporate anchors that slowed things down, I would be able to provide quality software services to businesses of any size at an affordable price. The fact that one of the biggest barriers to getting more people the custom software they need is the Software Development Industry itself is simply unacceptable and we need to change that.

The final notable reason that we’re doing this is that many people are settling. We don’t want people to have to settle when it comes to their website. It’s always more expensive when one of our clients come to us after a failed attempt at outsourcing, or after trying to build their own system with one of the do-it-yourself website tools. We understand that we live in a here and now society (evidenced by the fact that an Amazon package showed up at my house on Sunday, we can’t even give delivery people Sunday off?), and that is why we’ve made it more streamlined to order web development services. It’s still not streamlined to the point where there is 0 human interaction involved, but a little human contact won’t hurt too much, will it?

More On the Way

We’re just getting started in shaking up the industry and giving the lowest pricing possible for high quality, custom, uncompromising software. We will continue to streamline our products, and make it easier than ever to get custom websites built.
